We. Are. Not. Ready.

It is very hard to believe that we are packing back packs already!   Summer is too short!   The girls had lots of fun filling their school supply list and getting their backpacks ready for 1st and 2nd grade.   Now they will hang on the hook until "meet your teacher night" on August 1st.   Official start date is August 5th.

Kentucky Bourbon

We literally stumbled on the Jim Beam distillery.   They were closed for the day but we drove around the property and took some pictures.  We will go back to do the tour.  Very beautiful farm country and interesting history.

Rainy 4th Weekend

Love this peacock

We explored Kentucky Down Under.  We have had solid rain for several days so we decided to explore the area.  We enjoyed a fun family day learning about the cavern and seeing animals from Australia

Our Little Firecrackers....2013

July 3, 2013.  We went to the Hendersonville fireworks.  This was our first experience with the festivities in TN.   We didn't really know where to park and the place we landed was blocked by a huge tree... Oh well we were looking forward to the next day in Nashville.

The Band Perry

On the 4th it RAINED ALL DAY..... but we headed to Nashville's River Front  for the Celebration.   We ate on Broadway, and then found a close up seat in the lawn.   We enjoyed a concert by The Band Perry and then the Fireworks began!   They are the 4th largest in the U.S. and were AMAZING.   They were shot over the Cumberland River from LP Field.   Ash was falling from the sky and the display was 27 minutes of several colors bursting at a time overhead.    There were so many fireworks that the smoke blocked the finale so we could only hear the sound!   We needed just a little wind to move the smoke out of the way so we could see the final display!   So blessed to live in this great country of ours, and very thankful for all of those that fight for our freedom!
