Memorial Weekend 2010

We had a great visit with Rita, JT, Lily and John! The kids loved spending time together and we loved catching up! Thanks guys for a great weekend, it truly felt like a mini-vacation! We are so thankful for all of those who serve our country, past and present, so that we can enjoy the freedom we have. Happy Memorial Day!

Pool Fun!

Taking a break for lunch!

S. and JT enjoyed craw fish.....and the kids loved holding them!

John getting ready to flip! Such a strong little swimmer!

Nature Hike

Mia paused from throwing rocks for a picture with me!

Aunt Rita and Lily

Right behind their new house there is a trail. Not only is it beautiful, but it is a great place to take a hike or bike ride! We enjoyed a little nature hike! I love this picture of the kids!

Time With Cousins!

We were getting a tour of the Rita and JT's new home. The kids LOVED the basement. It so reminded me of when we were little and used to roller skate in Aunt Margie's basement!

Mia and Uncle JT having a chat! This girl never runs out of words!

Best girls! Ansley so looks up to Lily, we use it to our complete advantage. She often hears, "Lily loves vegetables!" I am so glad she has such a great role model. They fixed each other's hair, swam to the bottom of the pool, and did art projects!

Hudgins Boys and Their Mommy!

The boys and Ms. Ruth came for a quick visit one day after school! We love playing with them. We are so blessed to have such great neighbors and friends! I LOVE this picture of Jay, Caleb and Ansley playing kitchen. Mia couldn't get enough of Micah!

Pudding Pie!

Our little pudding enjoying dessert!

Ansley Update!

I took Ans to the Dr. on Wednesday. She had strep. After two doses of antibiotics she was 100% back to her regular self. We had a great rest of the week and headed to the Thome's for the holiday weekend, where I didn't feel great and ended up calling my doctor for a prescription. I am certain I too have strep throat! I am really hoping that we can make it to the end of this school year without another day out! Just 9 school days left.....can you believe we STILL have 9 days to go??? This weekend is supposed to mark summer!

Almost Made It!

Poor little thing, she is like a noodle trying to read her book!

Notice the chocolate pudding around her mouth. She hasn't eaten much and thought that pudding woudn't hurt her throat. So at 5:30 this morning that was her breakfast choice, she ate about three bites!

With just 10 School Days left, I thought we just might make it without another sick day.....Nope! Ansley has a tummy ache, sore throat, and a fever! We are headed to the Dr. this morning. I hope she feels better soon! It breaks my heart when my girls are sick.

Ouch!

On Sunday we were outside playing and daddy was washing the windows. As daddy was coming down with the pole Ansley stepped right into it! She was knocked right on the cheek! She had a big bump with a scrape and needed lots of love and an ice pack! Poor thing!

Way Back Fun!

Yesterday it was 90 degrees so we pulled out the sprinkler and let the girls have an afternoon of fun! It so reminded me of my sister and I when we were little. We used to spend hours in the freezing cold sprinkler in the summer! You can see the happiness on their faces! I love that they are making memories that will last their entire lives!

Weekend Fun!

Pure joy!

Whoo Whoo....

So Bright!

Y'all know I think my girls are "bright" however, not the meaning of the above title. I had them looking directly in the sun before church this morning for a quick pix!

Really Mama?

"Do I really have to leave my pappy in my bed?" I know she would love to take it to school! We do have some limits with our sweet almost 3 year old!

Tucker Bucks

At my school "Tucker Elementary" the third graders have a huge economics lesson on free markets, supply and demand, with a culminating "May Market" project. Each student has to make a product, advertise, and price accordingly. Then second graders get to "shop". So every 2nd and 3rd grader is earning money for the market......i.e. Tucker Bucks! I had some in my purse that Ansley discovered and began asking all about. Turns out that she wants to earn Tucker Bucks too and so does Mia. These have been highly motivating for good choices and listening. Ansley made the connection tonight stating, "Hey these look like dollars". Yep.....a vocabulary lesson, bucks and dollars mean the same thing! Mia was counting all of hers in Spanish! Learning Rocks!

Picture Perfect Morning!

Happy Monday!
